This single screen loop shows a never ending “caravan” of dancers performing a “canon” – that is, a similar solo that the dancers perform in a permanent time-gap between one another, at moments becoming a duo or a trio with the dancers right in front or behind each other. This video was part of Change (2014) an exhibition that indicated the start of Helfman’s on-going interest in the different vicissitudes of migration:  war, smuggling, exile and persecution. The “motto” of that exhibition was a line reading: “Throughout history, the convoy paths never change, it is those walking them that change along the generations”.
